Fishing communities and seafood lovers alike took to social media on 15 May to participate in the #Fish24 campaign.

The initiative, designed to highlight the hard work and dedication of those in the fishing industry and promote the consumption of fresh, sustainable seafood, gained significant traction throughout the morning and early afternoon.

The 24-hour online buzz was kicked off early by CJ Jackson at Billingsgate Market at 5am. By midday, the #Fish24 hashtag had been used over 170 times on Instagram alone, with posts from fishermen sharing their catches, chefs showcasing delicious seafood dishes and consumers expressing their appreciation for the industry. Images of glistening fish, busy harbours and mouthwatering meals flooded timelines, creating a vibrant snapshot of the UK’s seafood sector.
