Last year saw a record number of entries to our annual readers’ photo competition.

The high quality of the pictures received over the year made selecting these seven shortlisted photographs a challenge – but the eventual verdict of the Fishing News team was that the overall winner is Steven Duthie’s striking image of the Fraserburgh pair-seiner Faithful.

Congratulations to Steven Duthie, who will receive a cheque for £100, plus a Fishing News beanie hat. There’s also a beanie on its way to the other six shortlisted photographers pictured here.

Our thanks to everyone who sent in their photographs last year – please keep them coming through 2022!
