The Fishing Industry Safety Group’s (FISG) Home and Dry campaign is aiming to make the fishing industry safer. The recent campaign focused on Man Overboard prevention highlighting three actions which could save lives:

  1. Do a risk assessment
  2. Do Man Overboard drills
  3. Wear a PFD with a PLB

As the Safety Partner for the Fishing News Awards, the Fishing Industry Safety Group is running a competition for Fishing News readers.

You could win £250 to make you, your crew and your vessel safer. The winner will get £250 towards the cost of safety equipment or training.

To enter all you need to do it tell us:

  • Your name
  • Vessel name
  • Contact number and email address
  • What safety equipment or safety training you would spend the £250 on.

Terms and Conditions 

The competition is open to people working on commercial fishing vessels in the UK. Entrants must be over 18. The competition closes at 23.59 on (insert date). A winner will be selected at random.

The competition is managed by Seafish on behalf of the Fishing Industry Safety Group.

The £250 will be reimbursed to the winner by Seafish on receipt of purchase of safety equipment or safety training.

Seafish will contact the winner to agree the purchase and arrange payment of the £250.

The winner can purchase more than one item or training course but the maximum amount reimbursed will be £250.

If the item you purchase is less than £250, you will only be reimbursed for the cost of the purchase. No cash alternatives are available.
