After a busy few weeks, the nominations for the Fishing News Awards 2018 have been collected and the shortlists drawn up for each of the categories.

Nine of the categories will be decided by the public, while the remaining four  – ‘Sustainability’, ‘Young Fisherman of the Year’, ‘Port of the Year’ and the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ – will be decided by a panel of judges drawn from the fishing industry. The summaries for each shortlisted nominee are edited versions of the supporting information received with the nominations. You may only vote once per category, and the voting closes at midnight on 27 April.

The winners will be announced and receive their awards at a presentation evening, held at the Hilton Treetops Hotel, Aberdeen on May 24, the evening before the opening of the Skipper Int Expo. The evening will be hosted by comedian Fred MacAulay, and includes a drinks reception, followed by a three-course meal with wine, exclusive live entertainment from Fred, and the awards presentation itself.

So now it’s over to you.
