Skipper James Third and his son AJ Third have bought the twin-rig prawn trawler Challenger FR 90, renaming her Harvest Moon FR 366 (pictured above).

The vessel was built in 2010 by Parkol Marine Engineering to an SC McAllister design for Martin and Chaz Bruce and their late father Alistair Bruce of Fuimus LLP of Fraserburgh. The vessel has main dimensions of 19m LOA, beam 7m and 4.24 moulded depth, and a Caterpillar C32 main engine.

The Harvest Moon will work through P&J Johnstone and land into Fraserburgh.

The vessel has been completely waterblasted, zinc-coated and repainted in new colours and a new design by Peter ‘Patsy’ Bruce, with a stem crest depicting a harvest moon.

The previous Harvest Moon has been bought by Eyemouth owners and renamed Sophie Louise LH 177.

A new 22.20m Challenger, for which Martin and Chaz Bruce placed the order in March, is being built by Parkol, with delivery scheduled for the end of this year.
