The shortlists for this year’s virtual Fishing News Awards have been announced, and now it’s down to you to choose this year’s winners!

Eleven of the categories will be decided by you, our readers, while the remaining four – Young Fisherman of the Year, the Sustainability Award, Port of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award – will be decided by a panel of expert judges drawn from the fishing industry.

It really couldn’t be simpler to vote in this year’s awards – just head over to the voting form here.

The Fishing News Awards 2021 will recognise the achievements of the industry during what has been an unprecedentedly difficult year, shining a spotlight on those who have made exceptional contributions to UK and Irish commercial fishing.

In a year when most events are virtual ones, the Fishing News Awards is no different, and will be held online at 7pm on 17 June. Head back here and find us on Twitter and Facebook to join us for the announcement of the winners (dressing up for the occasion is highly encouraged!).

The complete shortlists can be found here. Voting closes at midnight on 20 May, so make sure you get your votes in now!
