Fishing News has teamed up again with MarineCo, the UK supplier of fishing gear from New Zealand company Stormline, with a Christmas competition for the next generation of the fishing industry. We’re looking for photos showing you ‘at work’, helping your mum or dad with anything to do with fishing.
Last year’s overall winner was six-year-old Logan Haxby, pictured here with the prizes supplied by Stormline, which included a jacket for Dad, who fishes for crab and lobster out of Bridlington on the Pilot Me SH 132. He submitted a range of pictures, from helping load bait at the start of a trip, through to handling a lobster that appeared to be half as big as he was!
We have prizes for winners in two age groups. The winner in the younger category will win a Kids 985K Wet Weather Vest, and the older winner will get an Atlantic 809 Pullover – and our overall winner will also get an adult-size Stormtex 982TNS Vest for Mum or Dad.
To enter, all you need to do is take a selfie, or get someone to take a photo, of you ‘doing something fishy’. This could be down at the harbour, on the fishmarket, helping to mend some fishing gear, or aboard a boat – just as long as you’re fully safe and meeting all the health and safety rules!
Ask your mum or dad to send the photo to us, explaining who you are, where you are and what you’re doing, to: fishingnews.ed@kelsey.co.uk or by WhatsApp to: +44 774141 3966, by Monday, 13 January.
We look forward to seeing your photos, and to featuring some of them in a future issue of FN!
