The first build of a new design of 19m twin-rig trawler built by Macduff Shipyards for the Asteria Fishing Company of Portree, Isle of Skye, was christened at Macduff last week after completing successful sea trials, reports David Linkie.

Five-year-old Islay Montgomery and her two-year-old sister Lucy named Asteria and cut the ribbon to release the traditional bottle of champagne on the side of the vessel, which will be skippered by their father Andrew and grandfather Alasdair Montgomery.
Full details of Asteria BRD 250 will be included in Fishing News soon.
