The 21.6M twin-rigger Seraphim PD 170 arrived in Peterhead on Saturday, 28 October at the end of a delivery trip from Whitby that put the new boat’s seakeeping abilities to the test.

The new vessel, for skipper Andy Buchan and his son Josh Buchan of the Lighthouse Fishing Company, will target both whitefish and prawns.

Built at Parkol Marine Engineering’s Middlesbrough yard to an Ian Paton design, Seraphim is powered by a Mitsubishi 460kW engine driving a 2,600mm-diameter propeller. Thistle Marine supplied the new vessel’s hydraulics package.

A full feature on the Seraphim will appear in Fishing News soon.
