The Marine Works (EIA) Regulations 2007 (as amended) transpose, in relation to marine works, the EIA Directive (Council Directive 87/337/EEC of 27 June 1985, as amended).
The EIA for the Viking Link Interconnector scheme was carried out following an application relating to the project for a Marine Licence under the Marine & Coastal Access Act 2009. Following EIA consent, the Regulator will consider authorising such applications.
