Notification and Publication of an EIA Decision and Regulatory Decision
EIA Consent Decision Area 481 Aggregate Extraction
The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) has carried out an Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) under the Marine Works (EIA) Regulations 2007 (as amended) (“the Regulations”) in relation to the Aggregate Dredge Area 481 (case references MLA/2020/00517 and MLA/2020/00519), to be carried out by Van Oord UK Limited and Tarmac Marine Limited. In accordance with Regulation 22 of the Regulations, the MMO has decided to grant EIA consent for the project on 30 September 2022 subject to certain conditions being imposed. The Marine Works (EIA) Regulations 2007 (as amended) transposed, in relation to marine works, the EIA Directive 2011/92/EU (“the Directive”).
Effect of EIA Decision on the Regulatory Decision
Following the above EIA consent decision in accordance with Regulation 24 of the Regulations, the MMO has decided to grant marine licences for Aggregate Dredging at Area 481 under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 on 30 September 2022, subject to certain conditions being imposed.
