Full time employment opportunity in Cape Town, South Africa trawl gear technologist

Cape Town-based African Maritime Services (www.africanmaritime.co.za) is South Africa’s leading trawl gear supplier to the local deep sea trawling industry. The company has built an excellent reputation for service and quality over the last 25 years representing a number of internationally respected gear manufacturers such as Bekaert Bridon; Euronete; Markussens and IP Castro.

We are currently looking to employ an experienced Trawl Gear Technologist meeting the following requirements:

At least 10 years’ recent experience as a trawl rigger in a formal net loft
Experience in the design and manufacture of new bottom trawls
Able to lead and direct a team of trawl riggers on a daily basis
Strong computer ability in the use of Microsoft Office products. Experience with trawl design software would be a benefit.
