£34,229 – £38,292 plus time plus one third for any hours worked between 6pm and 6am for average 42 hours per week.

This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join our Offshore Team where your duties and responsibilities will be extremely varied. The overall purpose of the post is to support the running of our offshore assets, in particular, playing a role within our offshore survey program therefore a good working knowledge of local fisheries is required. You will support/assist the first engineer, ensuring that the Authority’s Patrol Vessel is operational and functioning at optimum levels and assist in all operations to deliver the Authority’s offshore functions in relation to the management and conservation of sea fisheries resources within our district.

Based in Whitby, North Yorkshire on board the Authority’s main fisheries vessel North Eastern Guardian III, routine duties include supporting the enforcement of marine legislation and the delivery of marine research and survey work, whilst supporting the First Engineer in the day-to-day maintenance of the vessel, it’s engines and all ancillary equipment. Experience and a working knowledge of fishing practices, marine diesels and ancillary equipment and boat handling experience would be advantageous.
