The Fishing News Awards 2025

Save the date! We are delighted to announce that the 2025 Fishing News Awards will once again take place at the prestigious Chester Hotel in Aberdeen, on the evening of Wednesday, 7 May.

Our host for the celebratory awards evening will be acclaimed Irish comedian Ed Byrne. The evening will start with a drinks reception, followed by a bespoke three-course meal featuring the best of UK-caught seafood. Ed Byrne will then take the stage to entertain guests and reveal the 2025 award winners – after which the celebrations and socialising will continue until late.

With award categories for fishermen working in the over-10m and under-10m sectors, young and trainee fishermen, new and refurbished vessels, ancillary companies and service providers, technical innovations and fishery harbours, as well as the Sustainability Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award, this is the only event dedicated to recognising achievement, innovation and success across the UK and Irish commercial fishing industry.

The 2024 awards, which saw a record number of votes cast in the eight categories decided by FN readers, saw winners crowned in 12 categories at the sell-out gala awards evening.

The first of our sponsors for 2025 has already been confirmed. We are pleased to welcome back the Scottish White Fish Producers’ Association to sponsor the Lifetime Achievement Award. A wide range of sponsorship opportunities is available at the 2025 awards. To discuss how your company can get involved, please contact Simon Hyland on: 01732 445327 or at: simon@talk-media.uk

Further details of the awards, including how to book tickets and tables for the presentation evening, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Nominations for the 2025 awards will open at the start of December.
