Notice is hereby given that pursuant to the above Act, Eastern Inshore Fisheries & Conservation Authority intends to apply to the Minister for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for the confirmation of the following Byelaws.

Marine Protected Areas Byelaw 2018

The proposed byelaw will replace the Marine Protected Areas Byelaw and introduce additional closed areas in relation to bottom towed gear.

Shrimp permit Byelaw 2018

The intention of this byelaw is to require persons fishing for shrimp to obtain a permit and fish in accordance with the permit conditions.  There is a fee associated with the permit.  The byelaw also requires fishers to use an electronic monitoring device on a vessel and to complete and submit catch returns.  Permit conditions and criteria on the eligibility of persons to a permit are also proposed.
