We are delighted to be able to reveal that top Scottish comedian Fred MacAulay, who hosted the awards to great acclaim back in 2018, will be returning as our host for the 2024 Fishing News Awards.

Well-known as a frequent panelist on top TV shows including They Think It’s All Over, Mock the Week, QI and Have I Got News For You, he also co-hosted the BBC talk show McCoist and MacAulay.

He has featured on a host of radio comedy shows including I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue and Just A Minute, and had four series of his own Radio 4 series Fred At The Stand.

Fred presented the daily magazine show MacAulay and Co on BBC Radio Scotland, and in 2021 joined Bauer Media’s Scottish network, presenting his show every Sunday morning on Greatest Hits Radio. He regularly tours his stand-up shows around Scotland, and has been an Edinburgh Fringe regular since 1989.
