The versatile 28.6m stern trawler Alannah Riley S 40 arrived in Castletownbere last week on completion of a delivery trip from Denmark, reports David Linkie.

Alannah Riley was designed and fitted-out by Vestværftet ApS at Hvide Sande. Noel ó Regan from Promara, Mallow, Co Cork was the consultant for owners Ross, David and Neil Minihane of Castletownbere.

Rigged for a combination of triple-rig prawn trawling and single/twin-rig demersal trawling, Alannah Riley is equipped with a highly-automated catch handling system supplied by VCU of Urk, Holland. The vessel has two fishholds arranged for combined cooling and freezing, while two blast-freezing rooms are arranged on the maindeck.

Alannah Riley features an ABC 6DZ main engine, two Cummins QSB7 auxiliaries and a Mitsubishi S4 harbour genset.
