Skipper Brian Harvey and crew report excellent results from early trips

Orion BF 432 has fished four successful trips to date.

Macduff Shipyards Ltd signed over the 24.5m Orion BF 432 to Fraserburgh skipper Brian Harvey and his sons Andrew and Simon at the end of July. The new vessel replaces the previous Orion, which was built by Macduff Shipyards in 2001 as Amethyst BF 19.

The new Orion will target prawns and whitefish in the North Sea grounds, working seven-day trips and landing into Peterhead and Fraserburgh. The new vessel has completed four trips so far, with skipper Brian Harvey reporting that he and his crew of five are ‘very happy’ with its performance. The boat fishes well, they say, and is also very comfortable.

Brian Harvey told Fishing News: “We’re really pleased with the boat. She’s everything we wanted and more.”
