EREBUS FLOATING OFFSHORE WIND FARM
Notice is hereby given that Blue Gem Wind Ltd (the Applicant), company registration number 11116383, with Registered Office at Bridge Innovation Centre, Pembrokeshire Science & Technology Park, Pembroke Dock Wales, SA72 6UN, has applied to Welsh Ministers under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989, to construct and operate an offshore generating station, with deemed planning permission for the associated onshore transmission infrastructure. A separate application under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009 has also been made for the offshore generating station.
The application relates to the construction and operation of 6 to 10 floating wind turbines with a maximum capacity up to 100 MW, to be located approximately 35 km offshore southwest of Pembrokeshire, South Wales together with offshore and onshore transmission cables and ancillary works (the Project). The proposed offshore wind farm will cover an offshore array area of approximately 43.5 km2. An offshore export cable approximately 49 km in length will transport energy from the array area to the landfall at West Angle Bay. Approximately 12.5km of buried onshore transmission cable will from here connect to a new onshore substation, located approximately 850 m south of Pembroke Power Station, where it will connect to the National Grid Electricity Transmission network. The location of the Project is shown on the Site Location Plan and is available to inspect as part of the application documents.
The Project is classed as EIA development under The Electricity Works (Environmental Impact Assessment) (England and Wales) Regulations 2017 and The Marine Works (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2007, has been subject to an environmental impact assessment and an Environmental Statement has been produced to accompany the application for consent which sets out details of the proposal and presents an assessment of the environmental impacts.
The Applicant has made available copies of the application documents, including the Site Location Plan showing the location of the Project and the Environmental Statement (ES), so that they may be inspected free of charge from 22 December 2021 to 30 January 2022 at the following locations and during the following hours:

Due to the size of the documents, a reasonable copying charge of up to £2500 may be made for reproduction of any hard copies of the full ES including figures and technical appendices (up to £250 for Volume 1 – ES Chapters only).
Should additional substantive information be made available in relation to this application, then further public notices will give advice on how this information may be viewed by members of the public, and how representations may be made. Representations will be made public, however, personal data will be redacted where appropriate in order to comply with Data Protection.
Where required by The Electricity (Offshore Generating Stations) (Applications for Consent) (Wales) Regulations 2019, or where Welsh Ministers otherwise decide to exercise their discretion to do so, Welsh Ministers may cause a Public Local Inquiry (PLI) to be held to consider the application.
