North Eastern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority are one of ten authorities surrounding the coastline of England. Our statutory function is to manage a sustainable marine environment and inshore fisheries.
As an Authority, we are proud of the work we do and the objectives we strive to achieve.
Our main priority is to find people with the same values, behaviours and attitudes that match our own.
We are seeking two full-time crew members to join our team to support the running and operation of our new ‘state of the art’ fisheries vessel.
Based in Whitby, North Yorkshire this is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the Authority’s established offshore team and become involved in the running and operation of a new, fourth generation, fisheries vessel supporting the protection, conservation and management of marine resources along the North East coast of England.
Daily duties include supporting the safe running, maintenance and operation of the vessel alongside other offshore assets and supporting the delivery of the Authority’s marine survey and fisheries enforcement and compliance programmes.
Practical experience in commercial inshore fishing practices, marine survey work, boat handling and a practical knowledge of the maintenance and repair of marine vessels and ancillary equipment would all be advantageous.
The Authority is pursuing a policy of Equal Opportunities in Employment.
